Advertising does not enter the formula and stale data cannot lead.
Quality
Quality uses 60% Bayesian community rating and 40% IdleOTS rating. Servers without an editorial assessment receive a neutral 5/10 base.
Position
Position uses 70% quality and 30% of the current tab metric: activity, trend, recency or a neutral signal.
IdleOTS rubric
Stability weighs 35%, experience 30%, transparency 20% and innovation 15%. Published criteria and weights are recorded.
Protections
The community average starts with prior strength equal to 10 votes at the global mean. Stale data gets zero activity and a configurable penalty.
